My name is Daedalus.
When I was alive, long ago in your world,
I was the master craftsman of the ancient world.
I am a spirit now.

For ages I have dreamed in the land of the dead.
I once served King Minos of Crete and built for him
the labyrinth of the Minotaur.

The spirit of Minos has long been a judge of the dead;
but now he hopes to return to the land of the living.
He has enslaved me.

I am building a new Labyrinth for him.
I can neither refuse, nor escape.
You must help me!
If I complete the Labyrinth, Minos will be unstoppable.

This is not a simple maze.
it is built outside of your space and time,
but penetrates your world in many ages.

When finished, Minos will be able to reach
any place or time he chooses.
He will use the power of the Labyrinth
to conquer the universe.

I am unable to resist Minos. He holds my spirit prisoner.
I have drawn you out of time and space,
the first mortal I could reach.

You alone can stop Minos from ruling the lands of the living.
I can do little to aid you.
You must destroy the Labyrinth before it is complete.

It is possible!
You must find the way, for all our sakes.
If you do, I will be freed and I will not be trapped again.

I wish you good fortune, mortal.
You must be clever, and careful, and swift.
I can say no more.

The spirit of Daedalus fades away.

Well. This may be bizarre and frightening...
But it's neither dull nor grey.
