Downloading and installing the The Labyrinth of Time Demo

This demo version of The Labyrinth of Time includes the introduction, enough content to illustrate the gameplay, and the ability to complete some tasks. You can save games that can be loaded with the full version of the product. The installation software download size is approximately 100MB for all three platforms.

If you a familar with downloading software from the Internet, just click on the appropriate Start Download button at the bottom of the page.

For Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP

Step 1: When you click on the Start Download button below, your browser will begin to download the The Labyrinth of Time Demo installation software.

Step 2: If you are using Internet Explorer, you should be asked whether you want to run the software from its current location or save it to disk. If you prefer to save the installation software to disk, follow the instructions in step 3. If you instead choose the first option, the installation process should begin immeadiately after the software finishes downloading. Skip to step 4.

Step 3: If you are using Netscape Navigator or chose to save to disk in step 2, you will be presented with a dialog asking where to save the file labyrinthdemo.exe. Save it where you want to, but remember the location.

After the download is complete, find the labyrinthdemo.exe on your hard drive and double-click on its icon or name. This will start the installation.

Step 4: During installation you will be asked where you want the The Labyrinth of Time Demo installed. The default location should be fine for most people.

Step 5: View the demo. At the end of the demo you will be given an opportunity to return to this web site and purchase the game!

For Mac OS X 10.1.2 or Later

Step 1: When you click the Start Download button below, your browser will begin to download an archive containing the demo.

Step 2: Wait until the archive download is complete. If your web browser and system are properly configured, StuffIt Expander will launch and unpack the archive into the same folder to which you downloaded. The unpacked disk image will have a file name ending with ".dmg".

(If Stuffit Expander doesn't automatically open when your download completes, please read these additional instructions.)

Step 3: Double-click the disk image, and Disk Copy will launch to mount it.

Step 4: A new Finder window will appear containing an icon named "The Labyrinth of Time Demo". To install simply drag this icon to your Applications folder (or any other folder or disk where you'd like to place it.)

Step 5: Once the demo software is installed, you can safely "eject" the virtual disk it came on (and dispose of the .dmg.sit archive you downloaded and the .dmg disk image if you choose.)

Step 6: Double-click the demo icon in its new location to view the demo. At the end of the demo you will be given an opportunity to return to this web site and purchase the game!

For Linux 2.4 (x86) or Later

Step 1: When you click the Start Download button below, your browser will begin to download an archive containing the demo.

Step 2: After the download is complete, locate the downloaded archive file labyrinthdemo-1.0.tar.gz on your hard drive. Open a terminal window and change directory to the location of the archive.

Step 3: In the terminal type tar xzf labyrinthdemo-1.0.tar.gz to extract the archive. This will create a directory named labyrinthdemo-1.0 in the same directory as the archive.

Step 4: Once the demo software has been extracted, you can safely delete the archive file if you desire.

Step 5: To play the demo type labyrinthdemo-1.0/labyrinthdemo. At the end of the demo you will be given an opportunity to return to this web site and purchase the game!

Uninstall: (optional) To uninstall the demo just delete the labyrinthdemo-1.0 directory.
