Why oh why is ITE So Slow?

Hey all, I'm trying to play my copy of ITE on my new laptop computer but the thing of it is that it moves so slow for some reason. I'm running vista and I would like some help to get ITE faster on my computer.

Are you using the DOS version of ITE? If so, you might want to use DosBox or ScummVM.
